Global Life Expectancy Nears Pre-COVID Levels in 2023

According to the WHO's 2023 Global Health Estimates, global life expectancy reached 73.3 years, close to the 2019 level of 73.4 years. Healthy life expectancy rose to 62.8 years but remains 0.4 years below 2019, showing lingering pandemic effects. India's life expectancy recovered to 71 years in 2023 from a COVID dip, with healthy life expectancy at 60.6 years, slightly above 2019 levels.

Nine More Taluks Declared Drought-Hit in Karnataka, Total 226

Karnataka added nine more taluks to its drought-affected list, raising the total to 226 out of 240 taluks.
