Five Deaths from Toxic Gas Prompt Fishermen Awareness Drive

Five people died from inhaling toxic gas released by decomposing chamak fish at Tadadi and Mudaga harbours, raising concerns in the fishing community. Taluk Health Officer Jagadish Naik visited Manjaguni harbour to educate fishermen and fish-processing workers on safe storage and handling. He warned that fish kept at sea for days without enough ice can release dangerous gas, urging precautions during transport and storage.

SC Withholds BMC Commissioner's Salary Over Encroachment Failure
