Ebola Outbreak in Congo Causes Growing Mental Health Crisis
The Ebola outbreak in eastern Congo is causing significant psychological distress among grieving families. According to WHO, the mental health effects of past Ebola outbreaks, such as anxiety and mood disorders, often persist long after the crisis ends. These issues are worsened by prolonged grief and social discrimination. Health workers in North Kivu Province are receiving vaccinations as part of intensified efforts to contain the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola.
