West Bengal Forms SIT to Probe Chorbagan Stampede

The West Bengal government has formed a six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by retired judge Justice Anindita Roy Saraswati to investigate the October 17 stampede at Chorbagan Durga Puja pandal in north Kolkata, which killed 19 and injured 25. The SIT must submit its findings and recommendations within three months. The team includes senior officials from disaster management, police, and the National Disaster Response Force.
