Doctor Mark Fowler Linked to Two Failed Executions in Tennessee

Dr. Mark Fowler oversaw the failed lethal injection execution of Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike, who was hospitalized after the procedure. Fowler was also involved in an earlier botched execution of Tony Carruthers, which was called off after medical staff failed to establish an IV line for over an hour. Pike was sentenced to death for a 1995 murder and is the only woman on Tennessee's death row.
