Child Marriage Complaints Rise in Mysuru District

Complaints about child marriages in Mysuru district increased from 194 in 2023-24 to 310 in 2025-26, with 173 complaints reported between April and September 2026. FIRs were filed in 32 cases after marriages were discovered post-ceremony. The District Child Protection Unit intervened to stop several marriages, but some were solemnised later. A notable FIR was filed against 23 people near Nagavala in August 2026. Cases are common in Mysuru city, H.D. Kote, Periyapatna, and Hunsur.

Former MLC Challenges Telangana Government's Prohibitory Land List in High Court
