HealthCentre Panel Proposes Tighter Tracking of Narcotic Medicines
The Centre’s Drugs Consultative Committee recommended stricter tracking of medicines containing narcotic and psychotropic substances, requiring monthly data submission from all states and union territories. The committee also aims to close loopholes to prevent fake medicines from entering the market. These decisions were made at the 70th DCC meeting on 18 September, aligning with the Vision Document on Drug Control 2026-2029 and coordinated by the Narco Coordination Centre.
