Calcutta HC Dismisses ISF Plea; DTMC to Contest Nandigram Bypoll with Envelope Symbol

The Calcutta High Court dismissed the Indian Secular Front's petition challenging the Election Commission's allotment of the 'envelope' symbol to the Democratic Trinamool Congress (DTMC) for the Nandigram Assembly by-election in West Bengal. DTMC will contest the bypoll on October 6 with the envelope symbol, while ISF will contest with the 'almirah' symbol. The by-election was triggered after CM Suvendu Adhikari chose to retain Bhabanipur seat.
