WorldBIS Seizes 1,095 Imitation Jewellery Articles in Jammu
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in Jammu and Kashmir seized 1,095 gold-colored jewellery items from a Jammu outlet for suspected misuse of the BIS Hallmark/Standard Mark. The items, described as coated or imitation jewellery, did not meet BIS Hallmarking standards and bore misleading tags. Further action will follow under BIS regulations, and consumers are advised to verify hallmarks on jewellery itself. BIS urged reporting suspected misuse via their app or email.
