APPCB to Divert Heavy Vehicles from Vizag Port and Steel Plant

The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB), along with Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and Regional Transport Authority, plans to divert heavy vehicles from Gangavaram Port and the Steel Plant that pass through Gajuwaka to reduce pollution. APPCB chairman P. Krishnaiah addressed concerns raised by the Greater Visakhapatnam Citizens’ Forum about air pollution and monitoring. The city currently has eight manual and three continuous air quality stations, with five IoT sensor stations expected by November.
