Ahmedabad to Get Rs 307 Crore Vande Bharat Maintenance Hub

Ahmedabad will soon have a Rs 307 crore Vande Bharat train maintenance hub at Sabarmati. This facility, part of Phase II of the Sabarmati Integrated Coaching Depot, will enable major repairs, scheduled overhauls, wheel and axle maintenance, and electrical equipment servicing locally. It can service 24-coach trainsets with an annual capacity of 12 trainsets for SS-I or eight for SS-II maintenance.

Karnataka mandates digital attendance for contract workers from Dec 1

The Karnataka government has issued a circular requiring all outsourced and contractual workers in government departments, boards, and corporations to register attendance via the 'Kartavya' app by November 25. From December 1, 2026, attendance must be recorded digitally. Starting January 1, 2027, payments to agencies will be released only based on attendance recorded in the app, with strict instructions to disbursing officers to withhold payments if attendance is missing.
