7.6 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Panama, Buildings Collapse
A 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck Panama's southern coast, causing buildings to collapse onto cars and forcing people to flee malls and other structures. Shortly after, a 6.0 magnitude quake hit 7 km north of La Tronosa. Videos showed TV broadcasts interrupted and residents rushing to safety amid the tremors, according to the US Geological Survey.
