In Jharkhand's Kodarma district, electrician Dharm Prakash converted a regular bicycle into an electric one for his daughter Pinky Kumari, who travels 10 km daily for tuition. The model, costing around ₹8,000, includes a 24V DC motor, lithium battery, horn, accelerator, and lights. The battery charges in two hours and runs about 30 km per charge, reducing Pinky's travel time from 30 to under 15 minutes.
