BusinessZimbabwe's Lithium Export Earnings Surge to $2.16 Billion
Zimbabwe's lithium export sales reached $2.16 billion in the nine months to September 30, nearly four times last year's total, driven by a 283% rise in spodumene concentrate prices. Spodumene sales made up $1.8 billion, petalite $155 million, and lithium sulphate $190 million. China's Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt began exporting lithium sulphate from Zimbabwe in April after investing $400 million in a lithium salt plant.
