The XRP Ledger activated the fixCleanup3_4_0 protocol amendment to fix a permission vulnerability that could let accounts authorized to burn tokens create new ones under certain conditions. This flaw affected delegated PaymentBurn transactions with issued assets like stablecoins. The patch stops transactions crossing a zero-balance boundary. XRP was not affected, and no exploitation cases have been reported.
