WWII Globe Used by Eisenhower Damaged at Pentagon
A historic globe used by Dwight D. Eisenhower during World War II as a US Army general was damaged at the Pentagon. The globe, one of two displayed there, was dropped by staff of US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, causing a puncture near Antarctica on its wooden base. The globe dates back to Eisenhower's tenure as Chief of the War Plans and Operations Divisions in 1942.
