In early November, India witnessed at least two major workplace fatalities: eight deaths at a construction site in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, and four deaths in a waste chamber in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The law limits inspections to web-based methods and curtails labor inspectors' powers, allowing management to control inspections. Increased fines remain insufficient to ensure safety compliance.
