Woman Dies After Forced Abortion Following Illegal Sex Test in Jharkhand

A 24-year-old woman, Kiran Kumari, died after being forced to undergo an illegal abortion following a sex determination test in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Her husband, Sonu Kewat, and in-laws allegedly pressured her to check the fetus's gender and abort when it was female. Police arrested the husband, a private diagnostic centre operator, a staff member, and a nurse. The abortion reportedly caused excessive bleeding leading to her death.
