Woman alleges rape by wireless operator at Gamharia police station

In Jharkhand's Saraikela-Kharsawan district, a woman accused a wireless operator at Gamharia police station of raping her late at night after she sought police protection. Despite her cries for help, four policemen nearby did not intervene. The accused, Neeraj Lakda, was arrested and sent to judicial custody. Disciplinary action against five police personnel, including the station officer, has been recommended. An SIT is investigating the case.
