Wholesale Inflation Hits 11.39% in September on Broad Price Rise

Wholesale price inflation (WPI) in India rose to 11.39% in September from 9.92% in August, driven by higher prices in food, fuel, and manufactured goods, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The all-commodities index increased to 112.5. Fuel and power inflation surged to 25.85%, with crude petroleum and natural gas inflation jumping to 57.32%. Coal, lignite, and mineral oils also saw significant inflation rises.
