HealthWHO Prequalifies Serum Institute’s Quadrivalent HPV Vaccine CERVAVAC
The World Health Organization (WHO) has prequalified CERVAVAC, the Serum Institute of India’s indigenously developed quadrivalent HPV vaccine. Effective from September 25, 2026, this approval allows UN agencies to procure the vaccine for HPV immunisation programs globally. CERVAVAC targets HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18 and is licensed in India for boys and girls aged 9 to 26 years, marking a significant step in cervical cancer prevention.
