Westminster Abbey Sarcophagus Holds Skeleton from AD 987–1052
A stone coffin at Westminster Abbey, long believed to contain a Roman-era Londoner, has been reanalyzed using modern forensic and archaeological methods. The skeleton inside is now thought to belong to a high-ranking medieval monk, possibly one of the abbey's early abbots, dating from AD 987 to 1052, according to the official Westminster Abbey website.
