West Bengal CM Announces 14,454 Govt Jobs, Support for Unmarried Women

West Bengal Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari announced recruitment for 14,454 government posts to be completed within six to eight months. He approved the Bhagini Nivedita scheme providing financial aid of Rs 50,000 over three years to unmarried women pursuing higher education. Monthly wages for part-time 'Karmabandhus' increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000. Food allowance for SC/ST hostel students rose from Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,300 per month.
