Wedding Ring Lost in WWII Found After 83 Years in Netherlands
A Dutch man lost his wedding ring while threshing grain in 1942 or 1943 during World War II. The ring was found 83 years later buried 20 centimetres underground in Odiliapeel by a metal detector user. The finder returned it to the owner's son, Bert Nabuurs, without accepting a reward. The ring's engraved wedding date confirmed its identity.
