Walt Disney Plans Thousands of Job Cuts to Save 20% Costs
Walt Disney is planning to cut thousands of jobs as part of a restructuring effort aimed at achieving 20% annual cost savings, according to Bloomberg. CEO Josh D'Amaro is addressing challenges like AI growth, weaker box office revenue, streaming competition, and lower theme park attendance. Savings will be partly reinvested in film, TV, technology, parks, and cruises. Disney employed about 231,000 people at fiscal 2025 end.
