Violence between Kuki and Naga communities in Manipur has resulted in 9 deaths and over 14 houses burned within 24 hours. The conflict escalated after the killing of a 42-year-old Kuki woman, Domkhonei Touthang, near Chasad village on October 9. Armed clashes and arson followed, including an attempt to burn the Chasad police station. Authorities imposed restrictions and declared a 24-hour shutdown in Kangpokpi district to control the situation.
