VHP Urges Karnataka CM to Retain Anti-Conversion Law, Opposes Archbishop
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has urged Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to retain the 2022 Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Act, opposing Archbishop Peter Machado's demand for its repeal. The VHP described the law as secular and aimed at preventing forced or fraudulent religious conversions. They called on the government to protect Karnataka's social and cultural fabric by maintaining the law.
