Venomous Snakes Use Bright Colors to Warn Predators
New research from the University of Galway shows venomous snakes are more likely than non-venomous ones to have bright, contrasting colors that stand out in their environments. This warning coloration helps signal danger to predators, similar to wasps and poison dart frogs. The study analyzed over 450 snake species worldwide and was published in the Journal of Animal Ecology.
