Vellore Corporation Starts Household Drainage Connections Under UGD Project

Vellore Corporation has begun providing drainage connections to households as part of the ₹1,000-crore Underground Drainage (UGD) project, initiated over a decade ago. Implemented under the AMRUT 2016-17 scheme in four phases, the corporation is currently working on phases 2 and 3, covering around 71,000 of the town's 1.41 lakh households. Commissioner A. Catherine Saranya confirmed most areas will be covered in these phases.
