USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland stated that geographically dispersed Olympic Games are becoming the norm due to the increasing scale and infrastructure challenges. The 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, spread over 22,000 km, were deemed successful. The 2028 LA Games will also be spread across multiple cities including Oklahoma City and New York. The 2030 French Alps Games will follow a similar dispersed model.
