HealthUS Waives Tariffs on Specialty Drugs from India and 19 Countries
The US will not impose ad valorem tariffs on certain specialty drugs and ingredients used to treat rare medical conditions imported from India and 19 other countries. This exemption covers drugs for rare diseases, infertility, cell and gene therapies, antibody-drug conjugates, and animal pharmaceuticals. The tariff waiver is part of a policy announced by President Trump to encourage domestic production, effective from September 29.
