US Supreme Court Allows Execution of Tennessee Woman Christa Pike

The US Supreme Court cleared the way for Christa Pike, the only woman on Tennessee's death row, to be executed by lethal injection on September 30, 2026. Pike was convicted of murdering a high-school friend. This will be Tennessee's first female execution in two centuries and the first female execution in the US since 2023. Her lawyer confirmed no further legal appeals are planned.
