US Stocks Fall as Treasury Yields Hit 24-Year High
US stocks declined on Wednesday with the Dow Jones dropping 503 points (1%), the S&P 500 down 0.6%, and the Nasdaq falling 0.7%. This drop followed a surge in Treasury yields to their highest levels since 2002. The 10-year Treasury yield rose above 5.35%, and the 30-year yield reached 5.725%. Higher yields increase borrowing costs, pressuring stocks and raising concerns about bank lending and growth.
