US Secretary of State Rubio to Visit India for Three Days from October 20

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will begin a three-day visit to India on October 20 to enhance bilateral ties in energy, trade, investment, defence, and critical technologies. He will also discuss the West Asia crisis. Rubio's visit includes meetings with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Mumbai and paying tribute to 26/11 terror attack victims at the Taj memorial. This is his second visit to India in 2023.

Karnataka's 13 Major Dams Losing 3.38 TMCFT Water Daily

Since October 1, Karnataka's 13 major dams have been losing an average of 3.38 tmcft of water daily. Currently, they hold 533.84 tmcft, with only 274 tmcft in live storage, which is water readily available for drinking and agriculture. The Krishna basin has 241 tmcft live water, and the Cauvery basin has 32.29 tmcft. Five reservoirs receive no inflow but continue releasing water to meet ecological and drinking needs.
