US Jury Awards $5.7 Billion to Taction in Apple Patent Case
A US jury ruled that Apple owes San Diego-based Taction over $5.7 billion for infringing patents related to haptic feedback technology used in iPhones and Apple Watches. Apple plans to appeal the verdict, the largest of its kind in the US. Taction filed the lawsuit in 2021, claiming Apple's Taptic Engine infringed its patents. Apple denies the claims and says it will appeal.
