UPI Daily Transaction Value Surpasses ₹1 Trillion in October

In October, the average daily value of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions exceeded ₹1 trillion for the first time, driven by the festive season. The average daily transaction volume reached 822 million, the highest ever. October recorded 25.47 billion transactions, a 23% increase from October 2025. Transaction value rose 16% to ₹31.53 trillion compared to ₹27.27 trillion the previous year. This growth precedes the proposed merchant discount rate on select P2M transactions after Diwali.
