Union Cabinet Extends National Social Assistance Programme Till 2031

The Union Cabinet approved extending the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) until 2030-31, with a budget of Rs 53,428 crore. Around 3.2 crore beneficiaries across 36 states and UTs will benefit. The NSAP will be renamed Pradhan Mantri Samajik Sahayata Yojana, with changes in disability pension eligibility and coverage. Senior citizen and widow pensions remain unchanged.
