With 12 days left for the World Weightlifting Championship in Ningbo from October 24 to November 8, the participation of the Indian team remains uncertain. Led by Mirabai Chanu, who won silver at the Asian Games, the eight-member team has not yet received visas from China or final approval from SAI. The championship is the first qualifying event for the Los Angeles Olympics. There are disputes over team selection, especially multiple lifters in one weight category, though the federation supports it based on Olympic qualification rules.
