A British Hindu family has taken Vicar’s Green Primary School in west London to the UK High Court, seeking £25,000 in damages after the school barred their nine-year-old son from wearing a religious tilak-chandlo on his forehead. The boy, following the Swaminarayan tradition, had worn the mark since 2021. The family alleges religious discrimination and harassment, supported by the Hindu group Action for Harmony and Ashray Law.
