Two FDA-Approved Drugs for MASH: Choosing Between Resmetirom and Semaglutide
Two FDA-approved drugs, Resmetirom and Semaglutide, are available for treating MASH (Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis). A real-world MASLD analysis by UCLA Health found Resmetirom is linked to lower major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) compared to Semaglutide. This data may guide doctors in selecting the appropriate treatment for patients with MASH.
