Traffic Rules in Aluva from Oct 28 for Marthanda Varma Bridge Repair

The old Marthanda Varma Bridge in Aluva will be closed from October 28 to November 6, 2026, for maintenance. Heavy vehicles from Thrissur to Ernakulam must divert via Irinjalakuda, Kodungallur, North Paravur, and Cheranalloor. Those from Thrissur to Aluva should divert at Angamaly via Kalady-Perumbavoor road. Heavy vehicles from Vyttila to Aluva must use Cheranalloor and North Paravur-Kodungallur routes. Kalamassery and Angamaly heavy vehicles cannot travel to Aluva during this period.

Cyclone Arnab to Hit Andhra Pradesh and Yanam by October 28

Cyclone Arnab has intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm over the west-central Bay of Bengal. It is expected to move northwest and cross the Andhra Pradesh and Yanam coasts between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam by the forenoon of October 28. Heavy rainfall is forecast for coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and East Uttar Pradesh between October 27 and 29. South Coast Railway cancelled 53 trains on October 27-28, and schools in Andaman and Nicobar were closed on October 27 as a precaution.

RSS to Hold Highest Decision-Making Body Meeting Every Three Years
