TNUHDB Plans Reconstruction of 20 Tenement Sites in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB) has identified 20 sites across the state for reconstruction of aging tenements during 2026-27. Chairperson Ku. Pa. Krishnan announced plans to build greenfield resettlement sites in Perambur and Madurantakam. Residents of 23 dilapidated tenements, including 14 slated for reconstruction, have been urged to temporarily vacate their homes due to safety concerns during the northeast monsoon.
