TN Cop Clings to SUV Roof for 30 km to Catch Gutka Smugglers

In Coimbatore on September 27, a head constable clung to the roof rails of a speeding SUV for nearly 30 km during a police chase. The SUV was carrying around 170 kg of gutka and banned tobacco products. The chase ended near Thekkalur on the Tiruppur border, where three men were arrested and the contraband seized. The incident began early morning during a vehicle check by Kovilpalayam police.

Jaipur to Install 5 MW Solar Plants on Dravyavati STPs and Gardens

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will install 5 MW solar power plants on rooftops of six sewage treatment plants and two gardens along the Dravyavati River. Implemented via Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation, the project aims to generate 72 lakh units annually, save ₹6.12 crore yearly, and reduce carbon emissions by 5,227 tonnes per year. JDA will pay ₹536.12 per kW monthly for 11 years, covering operation and maintenance for 25 years.
