Thousands Attend Hasanamba Jatra Darshan in Hassan

Thousands of devotees gathered in Hassan for the first day of public darshan of Goddess Hasanamba on Friday, considered an auspicious day. Devotees queued from as early as 3 am, with lines extending up to two kilometers for special darshan costing Rs 1,000 and Rs 300. Over 30 lakh devotees are expected during the festival. A woman collapsed but was treated promptly. Two Revenue department employees were suspended for misusing identity cards during the event.
