Thiruvananthapuram Bank Ordered to Pay Widow Rs 14.15 Lakh
A district consumer commission in Thiruvananthapuram directed a cooperative bank to pay a widow over Rs 14.15 lakh after it blocked her access to four matured fixed deposits totaling more than Rs 13.8 lakh. The bank had restricted her withdrawal to Rs 50,000 from her savings account, citing an internal inquiry and cooperative authority restrictions.
