Texas A&M Links Polyethylene Microplastics to Fatty Liver Signs
Research from Texas A&M University shows that exposure to polyethylene microplastics combined with a high-fat diet is associated with signs of fatty liver disease. The study identified changes in gene activity related to fat metabolism and tissue repair. Further research will explore if these pollutants cause more severe liver damage in humans.
