Tesla Shares Drop 4% After Cutting Capital Expenditure Forecast
Tesla shares fell 4% in pre-market trading on October 22 after the company lowered its capital expenditure forecast to around $20 billion for the year, down from an earlier target of over $25 billion. This reduction raises concerns about the timing of investments in Elon Musk's AI and robotics ambitions, including robotaxi and humanoid robot Optimus projects. CFO Vaibhav Taneja confirmed continued spending growth in these areas despite the cut.
