Telangana's H1 Revenue Below Expectations Amid High Expenditure

Telangana's revenue receipts for the first half of the financial year reached only 38.14%, falling short of expectations. Most sectors recorded less than 50% revenue except Sales Tax and GST. Meanwhile, expenditure remained high with interest payments at 77.76% and pension payments at 96.6% of the budget. Salary expenses reached 52.23%, and the state plans to release two Dearness Allowance instalments from November.

Moscow to Host 2030 World Weightlifting Championships

Moscow will host the 2030 World Weightlifting Championships, the first major Olympic sports event awarded to Russia since its 2022 invasion of Ukraine, the International Weightlifting Federation announced. Ahmedabad, India, will host the 2029 edition. The 2030 Moscow event will also serve as a qualifier for the 2032 Olympics. Man and Friends Arrested for IED Attack on Cousin in Bengaluru
