Telangana mandates special fire safety norms for data centres

The Telangana Fire Department has introduced specialised fire and life safety guidelines for data centres, focusing on server halls, battery rooms, and other high-risk areas. Effective from November 6, 2026, these norms aim to expedite Fire No Objection Certificate clearances while addressing unique fire risks posed by data centre infrastructure such as UPS units, batteries, and fuel storage. The guidelines were issued by Director General Vikram Singh Mann.
