Telangana All-Party Delegation to Seek Centre's Help for El Nino Drought

More than 300 mandals in Telangana are facing drought conditions due to El Nino and deficient rainfall. An all-party meeting is scheduled in Hyderabad on October 28 to discuss mitigation measures. Following the meeting, a delegation will visit New Delhi to seek assistance from the Centre to address the drought impact, Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said.

Delhi HC refuses to stay probe into journalists accused of casteist remarks on ACP...

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday declined to stay the investigation into two journalists accused of making casteist remarks against ACP Vivek Bhagat. The journalists allegedly humiliated the officer and obstructed his duties during an October 3 protest. Justice Mini Pushkarna said the investigation cannot be stayed without reviewing the Delhi Police's status report. The court issued notice on the petition seeking quashing of the FIR against the journalists.

Due to Cyclone Arnab, Odisha has ordered the closure of schools and Anganwadi centres in Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Koraput, Rayagada, and Nabarangpur districts starting October 27. In Khordha, schools will close from 1 PM on October 27 through October 28. Teachers must remain on premises with roster duties to manage cyclone impact.
